I was commissioned to create a distinct logo design for the streetwear brand "Elysian" and decided to lean into my illustrative roots very deeply. Sketching and doodles became a large portion of the overall design, with influences from major brands such as "Off-White", "YZY Essentials", and "Aelfric Eden". The resulting design was a ton of fun to develop, and allowed me to push against traditional design tropes/styles for a unique overall look.
My client wanted a very organic typeface to function as their main logo, but when we couldn't finalize one that they enjoyed, I decided to freehand. Using my extensive history of illustration, a graffiti-inspired design came very quickly, and through subtle refinement, the client was pleased with the direction.
Colors were meant to be only kept to the "essentials". I decided on subtle adjustments to traditional black and white coloration to function as the main color scheme, referencing an "off-white" look.
